Endowed by the William Davidson Digital Archive of Jewish Detroit History Fund, every page of both the Detroit Jewish Chronicle and the Detroit Jewish News – beginning in 1916 – is now at your fingertips…fully searchable, fast, and free.

The William Davidson Digital Archive of Jewish Detroit History is the Jewish community’s indispensable source of primary information that educates, illuminates and makes relevant the community’s past, strengthens its present and shapes its future.

The Archive holds the historic pages of the Detroit Jewish News (1942-present) and the Detroit Jewish Chronicle (1916-1951). Collectively, they span over 100 consecutive years of the Jewish community and family history. The result is an innovative, open-source, and word-searchable online database that provides an enjoyable digital experience.

The William Davidson Foundation generously supported the development of the Archive; hence, the Archive honors this donation from the Davidson Foundation by naming the Archive in honor of William Davidson.
